He is most fascinated by the art of song arrangement and, left to his own devices,
will experiment endlessly with rhythms and melodies.
He was born in 1981 and has been part of a multitude of NW projects since 1997.
The tracks below represent some of his more recent work.
Huge Sally is his...ah...interesting collaboration with an acoustic songwriter
based in Austin TX who is entirely a world apart.
They happen to have become very close friends since meeting in 2006.
Searchlights consists of 3 rock and roll ego-maniacs attempting
to out-thrash each other... within the confines of a well-structured pop song.
This band started as a studio project in late 2009.
Chris is the primary composer.
The TummyBuckles are a 3-piece creative ensamble that performs more original music by
Chris Baron and bandmate Megan Cronin. They jam the violin, effected guitar and percussion.
The sound draws on studies of classical music theory as well as club-style rock & roll.
The group formed in January 2011.
For this project, Chris puts down the instruments and solely contributes vocal melodies and lyrics.
A test of trust, faith, and a true collaboration with his oldest musical compadres.
The band started in 2008 by covering the entire rock album SCIENCE
(Incubus, Sony, 1998) at local Portland 'Tribute Band' showcases.
